Hunting for a Photo

I've always loved this photo!

I've been reading the Gorsuch catalog for years and this photo used to be on the back cover. Of course, I saved a copy of it but it became lost over the years. To my surprise it turned up in a vendor catalog recently. I had to share it with you.

The bed is from Genessee River Trading Company ($2025-$2800) and the area rug is from New River Trading Company and is available custom in any size or colorway. I'm not sure about the bedding, but I think it came from Traditions. The old oil painting, folk art painted Tyrolean armoire and the various other small antiques add to the charm of the room, don't you think? I love to mix new and old together like this. It gives rooms more character.

Lake-Side Sleeping

I'm crazy for this wave bed for lake-front bedrooms. Does everything have to be brown in the mountains? Why not brighten cabin life up with a little color. Blue is a wonderful color for mountain houses, and often overlooked. I can't get enough of it!

Daybeds--Adding Extra Sleep Space

Could your cabin use an extra bed or two? It seems a fact of mountain living, especially when it comes to vacation homes, the more beds, the better the vacation. Family reunions, ski holidays, summer camp...large groups getting together to share the fun.

Daybeds are just what they sound like. By night they serve as a comfortable twin size bed, but by day they double as sofa-style seating. They are a practical way to tuck a bed into living rooms, sun rooms, dens, libraries and even wider hallways.

Millcreek makes this charming painted and carved daybed. Many daybeds can be ordered with an optional trundle which can be pulled out at bedtime to sleep an extra person.
